Unveiling a Unusual Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have discovered plenty of entertaining independent titles. However, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a hero that is truly a piece of poop striving to make its way to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is straightforward: you only need a single jump button. Across numerous challenges, you'll face boss fights and access a shop to purchase skins for your poop character.

Execute your jumps with caution, since one wrong move requires beginning again. Leap off floating orbs to hurl your character upward, cross crumbling ledges, and interact with triggers to open new areas. Earn UN-KOINS and use them on tougher game content where gameplay gets crazy.

Graphically, the demo boasts neon stages and an amazing music score. The simple graphics featuring moving abstract forms may remind players of old favorites like Earthbound.

Even though hard to think of other games where you control a dung character, interactive entertainment frequently featured toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, players create throwables from protagonist excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ dung as fertilizer. And of course, this theme is present a lot in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Despite its humorous idea, Unko Technica has already garnered notable accolades, such as winning at Bandai Namco's game competition in 2023. The demo is ready now on Steam, with the full game scheduled to launch on PC in the fall.
