Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to initiate large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 American roles as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are likely, with the company planning to reveal complete information during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports suggested that Paramount aimed to reduce between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.

As of December 2024, the organization retained nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 contract workers.

The company has not provided a response to a request for comment.
