Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
