Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is unclear and the US has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
