Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Beach
A helicopter hovering near a popular southern California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Recordings posted online show the aircraft starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palms and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Information
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were harmed. Details on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
